Bay Area Art School is located in the Sharp Park neighborhood of Pacifica, California, and serves neighboring SF Bay Area cities including Brisbane, Burlingame, Colma, Daly City, Half Moon Bay, Hillsborough, Millbrae, Montara, Moss Beach, San Bruno, San Francisco, San Mateo, and South San Francisco.

For those looking in these SF neighborhoods, we’re just a 15 minute drive away from most of these cities: Parkside, Sunset District(s), Ingleside, Excelsior, West Portal, Twin Peaks, Glen Park. Also, parking here at the studio is very easy.

Congratulations, David, on completing The Guitar! This project is a milestone for my students as it combines so many lessons about drawing, shading, composition, realism, and patience. What's after this pencil final? Many start learning painting, some continue with realism towards portraiture, and charcoal is always popular as it becomes much easier to work with and is much faster than pencil.

What does a student create with realism? Being able to draw accurately is a wonderful skill and something that students can feel proud of at a young age. Learning and understanding gradients, values and color means being able to create very unique artwork. Using both of these skills and creating something from imagination means being able to refine an idea into something you're proud of and something that is truly unique. So, whether it's a Master Copy with color changes or a dragon from imagination, the skills learned here are a key to unlocking happiness in your ability to create amazing art. We teach confidence. I often hear new students say to me," Wow, I didn't know I was able to create something like this."
