This class is offered as homeschool art program for ages 6-9 years old (first through third grade) for parents and students looking for a social environment to explore different art styles and mediums.

What sets us apart as an art studio for kids is simple:  We encourage playful experimentation and getting messy!  Art should be messy right?  And at the studio, away from home, is a great place to do that and have great time too.

• Fall Semester starts Thursday, September 4, 2025 for first, second and third grades as a combined group.
• Classes will be 90 minutes long – enough time to get messy and spend quality time learning the methods and mediums.
• Each lesson plan will be a series of Thursdays with specific goals for students.
• Students will have opportunities to contribute in the lessons showcasing presentation skills and learning to give and recieve possitive critiques.

Class structure

The class will follow a creative curriculum for a year-long art program designed by Cristina Herrera. Cristina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of San Francisco. In San Francisco, she has curated four art Exhibitions of Learning, showcasing her innovative project-based teaching style that empowers students to explore and express themselves through art. While we are lucky to have her talents here to lead this class, the plain truth is that kids love her!
