Cristina Herrera
Cristina is a Bay Area educator with a passion for art, teaching, and art education. She is excited to blend these passions in her role at Bay Area Art School. She eagerly anticipates highlighting the magic of the creative process through various art mediums in her courses. With over six years of experience teaching lower elementary students in San Francisco, she brings a wealth of creativity and expertise to her classes. Cristina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of San Francisco. In San Francisco, she has curated four art Exhibitions of Learning, showcasing her innovative project-based teaching style that empowers students to explore and express themselves through art.
In her personal art practice, Cristina finds joy in using oil acrylics the most. When teaching art, she is excited to explore a wide range of mediums with her students at Bay Area Art School.
Outside of her teaching role, Cristina draws inspiration from nature, plants, drawing, and the companionship of her two cats, Kylo and Link. She enjoys live music, and is passionate about nurturing creativity in young minds. Cristina looks forward to guiding your 1st-4th Grader as they begin courses at Bay Area Art School!
